I've been eyeing them for a while, really hate the unreliability of a swing are (I've been using these exclusively for 5 years) And wasn't crazy about the refractometers of friends, so I'm thinking of a Milwaukee digital anyone have one?

Even a lot of refractometers can be inaccurate. If you do decide to get a digital refract let us know how you like it. The Hanna brand has about the best reputation with the Milwaukee brand being basically the same thing. I've also been considering getting one.

So far I'm liking it needs to be calibrated everytme its turned on but this is quick getting it out caibrated and used is about a three min process also helpful to have multiple samples ready if doing more than 1 tank or mix bucket really likebthe confidence and peace of mind over my hydrometer

Hi everyone. First post here. I've been using the Milwaukee digital refractometer for about a year and a half. I love this thing. Easy, accurate, calibrates with RO water. You get the temperature reading, can choose degrees F or C, there's a low battery indicator, automatically turns off after 3 minutes.
In order to get a good reading I push the "read" button a few times in order to get the most correct reading. Variation is rarely more than .001. No squinting at a tiny screen!
A great value - I use it all the time.

Welcome aboard! Great review, after years of dealing with a number of the cheap junky ATC refractometers, I've been thinking of getting one but wasn't all that sure.

So I've had it almost a month and it's awesome. The calibration really takes no time at all and it's quick and accurate everytime can test two samples of water in well under 2 minutes after calibration. This has been a huge help in ensuring my mix water is exactly where it needs to be and helping me establish correct salinity at specific water levels in my tanks so I know where to top off at exactly. I skipped the regular refractometer and went from hydrometer to digital and think it's well worth it. My only concern now is how long this item will last before it needs to be replaced it's a Milwaukee so I assume it's good quality and will give me years of use, anyone with a reef tank would benefit and enjoy one of these! Also they are expensive I got mine used on ebay for $79 shipped when all was said and done...usually 115 on most saltwater sites to save cash I'd recommend looking around on some forums or ebay. I was fortunate mine was never used and the seller had bought the wrong model.
