That is a tough call Elos, Salifert, Fauna Marin are all supposed to be very good and LaMotte being the best but these are very costly. Years ago I use to use the Sera master kit and had very good luck with it. The Sera if you can find it runs 75.00 but the amount of different test included in the test is huge.

I've used the sailifert tests a bunch and they work well but can be a bit tedious to use. I just got the Red Sea pro foundations multi test kit for cal, mag, dkh and it's super easy to use. I got the nitrate and phosphate redsea pro test kits to an I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I'm in the same position as Ryan. I also have the "Marine care test kit" but i only use its pH kit. What I really like about the red sea kits, is that: they are consistently accurate, if you run out of one reagent you can purchase it individually, and you don't have a dozen different water damaged boxes kicking around. I also laminated all of the testing cards for each kit. Packing tape would work just fine too.

Red sea cards also come laminated idk why theirs didn't? They're also very easy to read and they're all double sided with the readings right on the back and the instructions on the front. Attachments:

I test for Mg+ and Ca+ using Salifert. They are color change kits which are extremely easy to read. No matching colors; when the color changes, read the amount of reagent left in the syringe...maybe all Mg+ and Ca+ tests works this way but with the Salifert test, the color change is dramatic making them very easy to use.
They're pretty straight forward to use as well. Takes me about 2 min to run each test.
