So 3 bta and 3 other types of anemones later (when I first started I didn't know only certain clowns hosted certain anemones thanks pet co!)my clowns have finally decided to host a bta. Hooray!! I just got it from Ryan last night and thought "maybe I should put it in my extra over flow and put a clown or 2 in there and see what happens. So I put 1 in that was in my sump for being a bad boy and woke up to a beautiful site. I now have the 2 clowns in there I want to host and pair up and they're both hosting in the bta now! Within seconds. Seriously I've heard probably 15 people ask how to get their clowns to host (including me) and I personally think this is the best option and I've tried a lot of different ones! Haven't even touched on the bta I got from Ryan last night this thing is awesome it's a nice size and great coloration.can you see the white lines in the center? That's how it looks in real life as well! Very happy with my purchase from Ryan! Ty

Awesome Jason! Clowns hosting anemones is one of the reasons why I got so deep in this hobby. I might not have gotten coral if I never seen hosting

My bta split today!! Yippie! It split all by it self. Yesterday it was acting weird and I didn't know why. Today it looked perfect all day and all of a sudden it was half the size and there was another one deep down in my rocks! Couple pictures but it's hard to see the other half. Color isn't that good because I was using a spot light! Haha Attachments:

Bta splitting on April Fool's day? It's playing a cruel joke on you!

Nope it's split that for sure!I checked to make sure my pistol shrimp didn't glue them back together. Ha Now my other bta I got from Ryan has gone under a rock and I'm thinking it may be doing the same thing? That would be awesome!

Ty and I think I'm about to have my second split in 2 days! Woot woot! Yeah! The one that split yesterday though was from FRAG FREAKS and it's freakin awesome looking! Seems like the longer I've had it the more colors and speckles it gets! Only downside is that it hasn't fully closed up yet? I thought they were supposed to close back up pretty quickly? I can see that it's trying to close up but it hasn't 100% yet....

It may take a couple of days. Be ready when it does close with some food.

If both split I would check you water chemistry just in case. Stress will also cause them to split. Not often get two to split at same time

Water parameters are spot on already thought of that. Ty though. I think the 2nd nem was a false alarm it just moved due to stress, I think? I had a trap in there to catch the pistol shrimp and it somehow moved at night and was on top of the nem. Plus it's very new to the tank and I've found that after a week or so they move and find there final resting place. At least that's what most of my nems have done. It's coming back out more so no worries.
