I've had a sand sifting goby in my tank since set up and he didn't move as much sand the entire time he's been in our tank as the pistol shrimp did in 2 days!
But he's chilled out now so I think it was just him reconstructing his home to his liking and that's fine by me it's his world!

2 days of moving sand isn't to big of a deal it was a contained area so no signs that it hurt anything. 2 day sand storm is well worth seeing my pistol shrimp and watchmen goby turn into BFF's ;D Symbolic relationships in a reef tank is the greatest thing to watch. Especially when it's 2 species that you'd never think would even get along never mind pretty much depend on each other.

www.metacafe.com/watch/yt-eKPrGxB1Kzc/pistol_shrimp/Seeing this is making me contimplate weather I want to keep a red Japanese pistol shrimp in my tank? I know this is probably a smaller cleaner shrimp but still I really don't want this guy getting to hungry and eating up my shrimp or fish! I read on the forum I found this link on that the person witnessed their pistol shrimp kill a fire fish rip it in half and gobbled it up quick like! Also said they lost 2 small goby's they tried to pair with it and a bunch of hermits. That's one mean a$$ pistol shrimp if you ask me. I read and researched it before placing it in my tank but read mostly good things about them and that the only real worry about keeping them was smaller shrimp they'd prey on.

I know what I said above but I was wrong and idk why I didn't listen to my instincts. I no longer want this pistol shrimp. If anyone is interested in it please let me know. I'll trade it for a nice frag or possibly another invert?

Sounds good to me! What do you want to trade? I can try to get someone to deliver it to the swap? Dennis? Was already gonna ask him to get that frag for me anyways? If not maybe scoob will meet me on the interstate?

I don't think scoob (or the swap) will work. He's staying down that way for a few days. No way to hold the shrimp. I don't know anyone else that's going and coming back right away.
If you find someone else that wants it, go ahead. If you still have it when you come this way, let me know.
