So I recently acquired a Japanese red pistol shrimp and he's been slowly digging a nice sized whole underneath my largest rock, witch I didn't mind at all buy I woke up this morning to this . . . . . .idk if you can see it but there's 2 spots where he's literally buried my frags. I'm mainly wondering if he's ever going to slow down?I know pistol shrimps move sand and dig but he's gonna bury my whole tank pretty soon at the rate he's going. Attachments:

Keep the frags high. They will do that and make a network. Mine will periodically even bury a clam that decided to move closer to his hole network.

So once he gets his highway paved he'll find a new hobby?

He should calm down after a bit. That pistol shrimp stayed in one hole of my rock work constantly and only ever came out to grab food. I'd have kept it but I wanted a lobster instead.

He likes staying I'm my big rock to because it's got a thousand tunnels going through it but he's definitely reconstructing the sand bed that my watchman just slowed down on moving. Lol Either way I like him and I'm pretty sure he's not going anywhere because I like him. So as long as he slows down a bit, he's got a nice home for life.;D

Mine dug the heck out of my tank at first it will never stop completely but will slow down to more generalized areas. Be careful where you leave small frags mine decided it needed a small rock with about 20 red hornets on it to support its burrow.

I have a White Tiger Pistol that's paired with a Yellow Watchman....going on a year now. He's got tunnels running under about 25% of the tank. The margins seem to move back and forth a bit but not much.

I actually have 3 pistol shrimp. It wasn't in purpose, I bought one, it disappeared, I replaced it, it disappeared, so I replaced it one last time, and that one disappeared. A couple months later I found the homes of all 3, and one was paired with my yellow watchman that I hadn't seen in 4 or 5 months.

I've been considering adding a few more on the chance they may pair. They are a lot of fun to watch.
