I bought momentive rtv 102 online I thought because they all say rtv series 100 they were all the same but there not I guess. Easy sells 103 and 108 and they are clear and black so I didn't know where mine is white if it's just a different color or if it's actually a different substance

The 103 and 108 look like a heavier duty silicone then the 102. Reading the MSDS it doesn't look like there is any antifungal or mold inhibitors and any of the three products. If Easy sells it and uses that certain model I am a firm believer it works why risk and use something different.

Normally if they're reef safe they will say "safe for aquarium use" but not all. They sell a cheap kind that aquarium safe at Lowe's. It's green and black and I think it's 3$ a tube

The momentive products are nothing like the silicone you buy retail, this stuff is industrial aeronautical stuff made for sealing stuff under severe stress. As long as it does not contain antifungal or mold inhibitors you should be all set. Again if easy is using 103 and 108 and have had good luck with it, that is what I would use.

Also keep in mind that NO silicone is reef safe until its fully cured which can take a full 7 days

We use the momentive rtv 103 and 108 because it is an adhesive in addition to being a sealant. If you are to ever be mounting an acrylic overflow box to a glass tank, 103/108 is what should be used. The 103/108 is also ideal for thin seams on rimless tanks. Or simply best used when wanting structurally sound thin seams

cant go wrong just using 100% silicone, it is proven and trusted for decades.
when we are talking about $1000's invested and 10's of 1000's if there is a failure in one component...... I will stick to tried and true over maybe and what if's
