I currently have a sca 301 skimmer and it works good, I ream the airline once a month or so to remove the calcium but besides that I have no complaints. I was wanting to upgrade to either a 302 or a 303 theyre both 169$ on ebay. Jason and Rob, which are you both running? Its weird because the 302 runs the 2000 pump and the 303 runs the 2500 pump and the 302 is rated for more gallons.

Imho there's not much difference between the two.ones rated for 150gph and the other is rated 180gph. Like I said before the pumps aren't even much different.go to www.scaquariums.com/protein-skimmers.html and check the specs Sca-302-larger and wider Sca-303-skinnier and tall Rob doesn't have a sca skimmer (asm g3) but he was one of the people that recommended scaquarium.com to me and one of the main reasons I bought one. Even though I say there's not "much" difference if I was buying another skimmer today I'd buy another sca-302 it's worked awesome for me so far and it has plenty of room in my sump so I don't need anything smaller. If you have room get the 302 if you need something skinnier because of limited space then get the 303. No matter witch one you get make sure you upgrade your skimmer cup to the larger one. It's a God send especially for anyone that leaves their house for more then a day or two at a time.

Also I'd make sure you buy from the company that makes them. I had broken impeller when I got mine from shipping and they sent out a replacement same day.No questions asked. They're on eBay I'm pretty sure their name on eBay is (letsmakesomemoney) Rancho Cucamonga, California. I could be off on that one though. Stinks they went up again because they were only 150$ shipped for the longest time.

I got the sca skimmer with a tank setup I purchased from "letsmakesomemoney" on ebay.
they sent me the 303 but I ordered the 302, so I sent it back and got the 302 then sold that because it is way to big for a 40g tank and I am partial to asm skimmers.
but for the price and the fact its almost identical to a bubble magus curve skimmer you cant beat it

This is what sc aquariums said to my email: Hi Jason, The reason why the SCA-302 is rated higher than the SCA-303 even though it uses a smaller pump. It is because the design of the cone, and it also proved in our factory lab. Sincerely, Customer Service Department SC Aquiarums 9477 London Way Rancho Cucamonga CA 91730 www.scaquariums.com

I got the sca skimmer with a tank setup I purchased from "letsmakesomemoney" on ebay. Yup, that's who I bought my 301 from for $76. I had a vibration in the pump last week, emailed them and they sent me a new pump with no questions asked.
