So I am having an internal battle that I cannot win. What size tank I want to go with next. I am debating on 3 different ones. 60 cube (24x24x24) rimless , 57 (36x18x20 I think) rimless or a 125/150 (72x18/20x20/24) non rimless. I want something easier to manage. But. I also want a magnificent fox face as the idol of my tank. I do have a reef, and would just transfer everything from my 75 plus add some extra rock I have if I were to go bigger but not too much because I would want an open aqua scape. I love the layout of a 60 cube though. Rimless. The works. Problem is that I want a cheap quality skimmer (sca) but I don't know if it will skim a 150 tank with sump effectively enough. Unless there is another skimmer on the market that I am unaware of that won't leave me penniless.
It's the great debate. I would build a custom stand, sump (refugium for larger tanks) and migrate my LEDs or get some different ones. So frustrating these decisions. Please help me decide. I think I live more for the build sometimes rather than the actual fish.

Couldn't the sca-302 handle it?

I would love a 6 foot tank. I'm looking at setting up a 92 corner next year. I would put a 6 foot tank in a heart beat if I could convince the wife.
My leverage is a desjardni sailfin, she wants one.... 6 foot tank would be perfect.

In a few years, I am hoping to build an addition on the house just for a 220.

I think a sca-302 will skim the heck out of a 120. Can't beat it for the price and consistency of good reviews over a long period of time.

Total system volume will be closer to 180. Maybe 200 if I decide to do refuge in separate tank.

It's rated to 180, probably means 150, so add a cheap second skimmer that you can get used, or probably already have?

If you order through the company directly (sc aquariums) I believe you get 30 day money back no questions! So if you don't think is skimming good enough send it back!
