I bought this clam at Pet Co. I saw brownish red bugs on it and brownish red flatworms as well? They look like tiny pods but they were a dark brownish red. I noticed them when I took it out of the bag so it never went in my system. It's in a qt tank right now. I've fresh water dipped it and picked them off with tweezers and I haven't seen any more of the worms or bugs but I still don't want to put it in my tank and Don't know what to do? Idk how long it can be in my qt tank because it's set up for fish not clams. Only have a small no watts led bar over the tank. I've fed the clam to try and make up for the lack of light but I'm not sure how long the clam can be fed as a supplement for light? Attachments:

they dont eat "food" so feeding dosnt help, your best bet would be to put a fish in with it. they need the ammonia the fish produce
you need to get a light over it

Should already be ammonia in the tank because I just had a fish in the qt. Took it out early because of the clam. And I didn't feed it regular food.... I fed it phytoplan

clams absorb chemicals in the water just like a deep sand bed. they dont really eat, maybe the phyto will die and create nitrates and ammonia for it...

Why in the world do places recommend feeding smaller clams if they don't eat or process food that way at all? That's kinda crazy ain't it?

Anybody think they have enough clam skills to help this clam out? I really don't want to take a chance with it right now. It's in good health and as I already stated I haven't seen anymore on it.? As long no one dipped it in something it shouldn't be dipped in I would guarantee money back if anything was to happen to the clam within reason...... Of The situation and time passed.... It's a beautiful clam and is nice sized I'd guess 4+ inches.
