I am getting this for a 210 though. Think being rated for a 180 it'd be too small?

Yeah it may be to small. You'd want to go +1 on the skimmer so you be thinking about getting the co-2

That wasn't the right model. Though the co2 is the model I was looking at. Says up to 350 gallons

The ASM is a great basic skimmer I had one on my 125 for a few years. The ASM comes apart at the neck between the cup and neck and also between the body and neck which makes cleaning a breeze. The Sedra pump is a beast and proven, the only issue I ran into was the magnet on the impeller swells causing the pump to slow and eventually stop working. I had this issue once in three years so I kept a spare on hand incase of any issues. Atman power heads are horrible as found on the SCA, Bubble Magus and a few other skimmers. I currently am running a Bubble Magus NAC6A with a Sicce pump, it originally came with the Atman. Atman power heads with the mesh wheel are prone to the mesh wheel blowing apart hence why fish street supplies two mesh wheels and So Cal aquarium supply stopped supplying them and went with the needle wheel. The needle wheel is not much better as they have a tendency to crack at the base. In three years I went through two mesh wheels, two needle wheels, and two actual power heads that stopped working all together. I finally did the upgrade and replaced the Altman with a sicce pump and have had no issues for a year. Yes the Atman worked well for six months or so and went down hill from there. My next skimmer on the 65 Gallon build will be a Coralvue reef octopus NWB-150 skimmer, seems to have very good reviews and I haven't read to many issues with the Otto pump. The only bad with this model octopus is the body doesn't come apart from the neck and that makes the body hard to clean.

Just ordered the asm g3. Thanks for the info everyone. Prob will get a better skimmer in the future. Need something to get this tank up and running though. Stuff is really expensive when you start adding it all up! Starting to wonder what I got myself into w such a large tank! I'm sure that will change once it's all set up!

I have the AquaMaxx Cone 3. Been running for 2-3 years now. Amazing skimmer. Easy to adjust and maintain. When I bought mine, it was a good 30% cheaper than anything else in its class. BTW -I'm running about 200 gallons of water on it between a 75 display, 65 frag, 33 frag, and 20ish gallon sump. Older pic below, but you get the idea.
