Topsham pet co had a few nice anthias left but some were skinny. Portland petco had tons of nice saltwater fish and quite a few inverts and corals when I was there today. Worth a stop.

I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure they had a trigger but I can't remember what kind. I was too busy looking at the anthias.

Call around to the pet co's and ask if they have one. I personally don't like getting triggers at pet co in my area. They don't always feed them right and imho it makes them search out food and start eating things they shouldn't like inverts and corals.
Now like I said this is only a theory and I'm sure a lot of triggers are going to eat these things anyways but if they're fed right from the beginning (borderline reef safe ones) maybe they won't go searching for these things and get the taste for fresh flesh. Love triggers but they can turn mean and nasty quick! Speaking from experience! I like puffers and Angel fish to but I love my corals and inverts more so they'll have to wait till I set up a fowlr predator tank.

I looked they were all sick (puffy cotton eyes) none of the petcos had anything they didnt get anything in because of the storms their sale bombed lol

Yesterday when I was there one tank had 2 sick ones the other tank had some decent healthy looking ones left. I didn't buy any simply because the price was too high and them being in the same system though.

I was reading on another forum about how Blue Throat and Red Tail Triggers are "reef safe", and since I love triggers it really got me thinking. Buying any fish/coral at Petco is a crap shoot, you just never know how they are going to do. Mail order might be my best bet, once it warms up maybe get a southern group buy going to get free shipping.

Do all Petco's sell the Ecotech pumps?
I've never seen them in S Portland, but I would be willing to travel to Topsham or Portsmouth for one.......before March 31st so I can get 25% off.

"reef safe" unless you are an invert or clam then you are lunch I have a blue throught trigger male. Been in my tank bout 4 months now and hasn't bothered a thing. Is my favorite fish. all the other fish swim around not realy caring bout anything outside the tank. He on the other hand seems to only watch everyone in the room.he actually recognizes me and starts swimming back and fourth excitedly when i approach the tank. I believe it is because i feed him. I feed him some kind of seafood twice a day. I do so with tweezers and he takes it as fast i stick it in there

the trigger needs to eat clams,crabs... like puffers if they dont grind there teeth by chewing at rock and shells there teeth get to big for there mouth and they die because they cant eat anymore...
I have actually had to trim the teeth on a puffer with bone cutters because of this.
FEED HIM SOME FRESH CLAMS!!
