I did the swap over a couple of weekends ago, and things are starting to get back to normal. Everything from my 35hex made it over to the new tank, I added 20lbs of new sand, kept all the same liverock and corals, lost a couple of my fish due to a bacteria bloom, but things are coming back now that it's settled down. I built the hood out of wood, and made a bowed stainless steel front piece that is removable. The hood's wood(1x12 pine) bowed so badly within 3-4 days that I had to build another one. This one is much much better, and I then had to mount a small fan to take the humidity out as it was dripping down the front face out onto the tank. My LED light is mounted about 8" off the water with no optics.....great light dispersion and no "scoping". Sump is working great, the skimmer is broke in now with little to no micro bubbles coming from it.....and it's quiet. The Rio2500 return pump was another worry of mine for noise, but after a few days it became much more quiet as well. Here is a picture of the sump - Here is a picture showing the full setup - linkHere is a close up of the tank itself - It's a work in progress, and will be adding a few more fish and a bunch more corals in the future. I really like this set up! I have always wanted a corner tank...just love the look. One suggestion, get some black silicone and put a bead on the back of the door panels. It will keep the light over the sump from shinning through the cracks in the front.

My light under the tank is motion activated, once I open the door it comes on........$7 on Ebay. The white showing thru is from the white paint I used inside the stand. It dried as like a little bridge between the pieces of wood that make the door. Now I have to find a super small brush to get in there and paint it black, but it does look like a light is on.

How's the Bi coloured Angel been in your tank? Model citizen? He's new to the tank, so he's still getting familiar with his new surroundings. I've read a lot about them, and it's a 50/50 chance with them in reefs. Steve

Lol it will get louder Sent from my HTC ONE I like the mystery of it, and I may never see it. I had a snapping sound in my 150 years ago, but I believe my Clown Trigger took care of that culprit.....LOL Steve

I'm guessing pistol. I've owned a few mantis and tho they do make some noise, it's not quite the same. But maybe the small size of whatever it is, is the reason for that

Still hearing the clicking, but still haven't seen anything yet.
When my CBS goes near that rock, the clicking gets more intense...........but the CBS doesn't get scared at all.

2 months after the swap over, and things are doing well. Only lost 2 heads of my Frogspawn, the other 2 have come back fully. Duncans are now fully open, and all other corals are doing great.
