How hard is it to change the end on 3/4" locline?
My tank came with a single straight nozzle, and I would like to change it to a flare fitting.
I can pick up the flare fitting for like $5, and I see there is a special tool for like $20..........but can it be done with bare hands?
Thanks,
Steve

if you are referring to the flexible tubing snake like things I pop them apart by hand and pop them back together

They come apart easy but can be tricky to put back together without a lock line tool.

I've been told I have gorilla hands..........LOL
I'm going to grab the flare fitting and give it a shot next time I have the return pump off for a water change.

Go to www.mcmaster.com and type loc-line into the search bar, they have the tool cheaper, a little under $15. They also have a great selection of nozzles and pieces. I have no idea if it's possible to change without the tool...

Ive used a lot as coolant lines as a machinist. One thing i can tell you is the more you take them apart and put back together the more they leak. that would be the case whether using the tool or not.

Don't buy the tool. Go to any place selling tge tool and read the reviews...everyone complains about them being useless.
By hand they are tough but not that bad.
