Like many fellow reef enthusiasts I was attracted to the pink pulsing xenia to add movement to me tank. After about 6 months it was broken off and spread to most parts of my tank. My question to you all is HOW DO I GET RID OF IT? The xenia wall on the back of my tank is nice but the other xenia covering 80% of my tank is not.

You can use Kalk paste, Joe's Juice or you can spot kill them by using a syringe and lemon juice. Be careful with the lemon juice tho, it is acidic and will lower the PH in the tank if you use too much. I wouldn't use it in a small tank. I used it on Aptasia in a 75 gallon and it did the trick.

Don't kill them or throw them away. Even if you can't sell them you can give them away. Frag frag frag. That's what I say.

I tore it all out of my last tank, took my long grabber things I got at Petco and just started yanking it off the rocks. It never came back at all, so I must have got them all.
I love the looks, color, and movement of it...........but I hate how it spreads and grows like weeds.

Just inject them with kalk that will get rid of them but do it in small section.

When I decided to get rid of mine, I pulled out each rock, pulled them off by hand, then briefly heated the area with a small torch, and made sure any cooked tissue was scraped clean.

I agree with Ryan. Craig list equals new reefers give some away or sell it cheap and share our forum with them it'd reflect well upon us as a group. I lost all my Xenia when I started running gfo I think it likes phosphates

I lost all my Xenia when I started running gfo I think it likes phosphates +1 I agree with this for the most part I keep pulsating xenia and run gfo to keep phosphates down and it doesn't spread much in my tank. I mean it grows really nice but not much more then anything else. Frag as much as you can and lime others said give it away on craigslist, plenty of new refers will take a small colony.last resort take it out of the tank I wouldn't kill it in the tank if I was you and wouldn't flush it unless you have to.
