He's such an attention hog he'll literally go upside down to get you to rub his belly! Lol I can scratch his head it's just so cool I know clowns are personable and mine I've had for awhile will swim all around my hands but they don't want anyone touching them at all and they definitely don't rub on my hand on there own like this one! or should I say my wife's hand! Lol

I have a question about qt procedures. I have him in a qt tank for 30 days but he's not showing sings of any diseases I'm still going to keep him in qt for the full 30 days but do I have to treat him as a preventive measure before showing any signs of disease? I don't like using meds unless there needed but I also don't want to have a tank disaster!

I've read that fresh water dips don't do much for most of the bigger marine fish diseases like oodinium and even ick.I read it can help to relive the fish from some of the parasites if they're really bad off but it won't kill anything off completely? Do most people medicate there qt tank no matter what the fishes condition is? Preventative measures??? Or is the 30 days supposed to be enough time to be able to make sure the fish diseases will have shown signs so you can then medicate the fish?

I dont qt imo- it causes more stress, stress is what causes them to loose there slime coat, if the fish has a healthy slime coat it cant get sick...
I treat every fish with "quick cure" the stuff works awesome and never had any problems

I like this idea but it scares me to put fish from pottery co in my tank without at least watching them for a few days. Way to many bad experiences there with fish disease especially the one I got it from. But once again I took a chance.
I'm not able to load pictures right now but I have a bottle of quick cure so it must be the same one right? Blue liquid?

methylene blue / formalin are the ingredients
the thing with petco fish is acclimate them very slowly they keep there salinity low so when ppl put the fish in the tank it causes stress that makes fish lose the slime coat and the fish get sick
the quick cure will kill any parasites in or on the fish. I use it at way over the recommended dose for a short 30 second or so dip

IMO I'd be leary adding PetCo fish directly to my system, every time I go into PetCo I see dead fish, skinny fish, fish with ick, etc. If it were me, I would finish up the QT, if it's a good size QT tank with good water conditions, flow, etc, he shouldn't be stressed.
