I have a mated pair of clowns (Ocellaris) in my mixed reef tank. I currently don't have an anemone but now im thinking i should add a Bubble Tip. Heres why; The female clown is 3-4" and all there but she had decided to visit with my small duncan (5-7 heads). The visits became more and more to the point the Duncans getting banged up or at least it seems to me...loosing it color a bit and not really opening up as much. And it gets worse, so since the Duncans have been "used" and not feeling it anymore the damn clown is all over my newly purchased Pagoda cup coral... he just keeps pushing his face into the side where a head is retracted. My concern is, Wil the clown hurt its self on the hard coral? or the coral be hurt? To BTA or not to BTA

How big is the tank? If there's room go for it.

Mine loved my Duncan's and my Duncan's never cared. Takes a bit for them to adjust. But you could also try a big hairy mushroom. Mine hosted the mushroom and the rbta

You could also consider a large hairy mushroom or toadstool as a substitute anemone. LPS corals don't usually like clownfish too much.

They host in what they want to. I had a misbar that would get in something different every night hairy mushroom, Duncan's, frogspawn and the one he loved the most my large feather duster! Lol a clown will host in whatever entices it I'd definitely try it if you want to see your clowns in an anemone and away from your lps and other corals just remember there's no guarantee that your clowns will host in an anemone no matter the kind it is. They can sometimes be enticed to go in but not always. I just don't want you to think a bta is gonna cure your problem 100%
