I've never had a sump/overflow So It's still a little confusing to me how it's suppose to be set up. I picked up a 90 gallon pre drilled the other day and they disassembled it before I got there so I didn't get to see how it was set up. There's a few large vinyl hoses instead off PVC I thought there would be an inlet and a return but it looks like one inlet on each side and the return in the middle how would I hook it all up into the sump? imageshack.us/a/img513/8826/ufyl.jpg

One pump t'd to both bulk head returns for a cheap wave maker get a scwd. For the overflow pipe it to the chamber in sump furthest from return pump. There are a few other ways to do it too

Not exactly sure how they had it set up but it looks like they might have used the rio for the return pump and the other two for power heads, although non look like power heads unless they look diffrent that what I found with Google.

Well Dennis at deep sea had helped him with it all and he's the one who drilled the tank. Does anyone know his number so I can get in contact with him? I'm sure he will know

So I do 2 returns or 2 inlets??? And with this type of set up you don't use an overflow box?? I'm wicked confused about the whole thing

Is there an over flow box? Can you put up a pick of the inside of the tank? From the back it is hard to see

Can you post some more pictures? I would guess the 9.5 (Mag drive) might be the return pump. A 18b (also a Mag drive) I think would be too much for a 90 gal. 1800 gph out of the barrel... From you picture, it looks like 3 gravity feed drains (with screened elbows on the inside of tank) go to the sump. Don't see anything for return lines.

I was kind of leaning in that direction too. That's why I was looming for front shot

It looks like middle is the return and the end ones are the drains

No you put screens on the two drains to stop fish from ending up in your sump easy has them for about 2 dollars each

Ok I have them I had just taken them off to clean. So you don't actually need overflow boxes i always thought you did, does anyone else run there plumbing like this? Is it better worse the same?

Should I have it just like this with no PVC Or like this with the PVC Also should this pieces of PVC out the back be threaded into the bulkhead like This or should it be threaded over it? The person that had this aquarium had no idea what they were doing so I'm trying to fix all there mistakes before I start running it. They were even using an under gravel filter with sand lol
