So I've had a false percula in my tank for over a year now and i heard they typically turn female after being by them self for a long time. Last night though I got another one it's just darker color and immediately went to my clown which hosts in my waving hand and they've been together ever since. I'm just confused if they are paired because the new one is double the size of mine and I'm preety sure the smaller ones a male so is it possible mine turned male and the one I added was female?

More then likely the one you just brought home(double the size) will be or already is a female and your clown maybe a male? I'm not sure what I do know (think) is that no matter what one will become dominant over the other and you will eventually have 1 male and 1 female paired together.

Once female it will never change back, so one has to still be neutral or male.

Yup yours is male, two females would likely be fighting, not hanging out together. And like Jess said once female always female.

If the one in his tank has been alone since he bought it and it stayed smaller so it shouldn't have turned into a female correct?

Depending on age they could possibly both be males, one will change and then will bully the other to stay male. I had one female and three males, the female paired with the largest oldest male and the two smaller males buddied up, but they were both males
