UPS delivered a bucket of salt yesterday that was all busted up, chunks of the bucket were missing, it was taped up and when I removed the tape, salt started falling out of the bucket. Contacted Foster and Smith, explained what happened, expecting that they would offer a partial credit or something. Instead, they are sending a new bucket free of charge, without asking me to return the messed up one.

Foster and smiths is the best place to order, I just had an order of four clownfish show up with three DOA and they credited me the entire amount for the loss. No questions asked. UPS definitely sucks with shipping livestock though I will say. It was a sad day when they stopped shipping through FedEx.

No questions asked 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed at Dr fosters and Smith's anyone I've ever had trouble they just automatically send out a new product!
Liveaquaria is very good with there doa policy but they will not ship out new live stock for doa only credit for the doa so in order to get what you wanted that died you have to pay$39.99 shipping AGAIN. I know it's better then most people's livestock policy but I still don't like it.If you order pay for and have fish inverts or corals sent to you and they die before you ever touch them I think you should get your order resent free of charge. Especially w/ a big company like liveaquaria it's not like there not making enough money. Smaller company or starter company I can understand why they can't afford the big losses like that.
Just a side note as well Ryan when I talked to customer service at liveaquaria awhile back I asked why they don't use Fed ex and they said they had MORE problems when they used Fed ex and that's why they use ups now.

Shipping is actually $34.99 but I do agree with ya, the replacement items should ship for free at least within a certain time from when the initial order was placed. Seems stupid to pay shipping twice for one order. Can't really get around it though unless you reach the free shipping cost which is also pretty easy to do.

Not for me I can only order from LiveAquaria when there's a group order per my wife! She doesn't mind if I order from cultivated now cause the shipping isn't as bad,and now I got Frag freaks as well because they also have decent shipping prices! 19.00$ I believe for both. Maybe $18.00?
Agreed if your order comes in doa and you want it sent right back out it should be free! Ups is at fault so they should have to pay it.(free shipping)

Ups is at fault so they should have to pay it.(free shipping) Correct our shipping is $19.99 for either a 6"x6"x6" box or a 8"x8"x8" box with a 10lb max if you are within range of the UPS Ground 1 Day Transit area (which I would say most areas are). These boxes are good for up to about 10-12 frags, at this time we never really needed anything bigger. If there were a group buy and could not accomodate the frags in those size boxes we would do a custom box. We also offer free shipping for orders that are $299. |
