I have an opportunity to get a AquaC EV 180 with a Mag 9.5 for my tank.. I am in need of a skimmer and want one that can handle a 120 gallon tank someday. Currently have a 72 bow front and a 55 gallon sump. Just want to hear if its good or bad. I like the look and need one ASAP.

ive never used one, but I have seen mixed reviews... almost everyone said it is a pain to dial in, so as long as you never shut it off or never clean it...... for me it would depend on price. you can get a brand new sca 302 or 303 for $150....... I actually have one sitting right here

I like those reviews on the SCA...... $150 shipped, i might just do that. Did you have any problems with it or the pump? I see they offer a larger collection cup too...

no i have a sca 302 sitting here but I have never used it. I opened the box just to make sure there was no damage during shipping.
I use asm skimmers... and love them. there was an asm g3 on the nh site for $100 but might be a little big for your 72g

Sorry to interject but I've been using my sca-302 for awhile and it's great!I have heard the they can be difficult to tune in but I haven't had that problem? It took probably 12-24 hours to originally break it in, but most skimmers do. I just washed mine yesterday with vinegar and it's skimming like a champ already.does wet skim for a little while after but that's not a big deal to me at all. I took this picture so you could see what it does after being cleaned(reset). My biggest complaint would have to be the skimmer cup being too small but Rob has taken care of that for someone because he's gotten you a large skimmer cup to go with the skimmer he's selling! I think Rob wants 150$ for it with the bigger collection cup witch you have to but separate for 20$ normally so you save on it because of that. And yes the pump has a warranty I just got a new one sent to me.

I hope you asked them to upgrade your skimmer cup for the larger one? If not you'll want it soon. I still haven't gotten one but I want to
