I found this tiny guy on my glass tonight, it's about 1/4" long, and all the ones I added were a lot bigger. Looks to me like a cerith, but I didn't think they would reproduce in an aquarium? Attachments:

Whelk of some sort. Most are predatory towards other snails. They are very similar to nasarius vibex but the whelks have a shorter foot and generally a rougher shell with heavily patterned skin. I haven't witnessed them actually killing anything but Your best off removing it. Ceriths are much longer.

Ceriths used to reproduce in my tank. Whereas I would agree that whelks are bad they usually have a nostril of sorts I believe. Better be safe than sorry but it looks like a cerith to me.
