I'm sure there's a very easy and logical answer to this but about 2 week's ago I found my first feather duster I ever bought all through one of my circulation pumps I mean the whole worm in pieces. So thinking it's dead for some reason I took out its tube and threw it away and yes it was empty. 2 days ago me and the wife are looking at the tank and we see this exactly where the last one was? ? Kinda weird! Attachments:

Your sure the worm got chewed up not just the tube? I've had them leave their whole tube and make a new one somewhere else.

No I found all the feather looking things in my circulation pump and they were whole. Unless they can shed(molt) there entire head pretty much? Do feather dusters do that like crustaceans? This new one is also less then half the size of the other one? Believe me I've tried to think of any and everything I could think of?

They can drop the feathers, as long as the worm isn't damaged, the tube and feathers will come back.
