get rid of every one!! I hate them they are such a pain!! imo if they have the colored spots its because they eat a coral.....

Yea I hate them to and I find them and always take them out just in case.I'd rather be safe then sorry. I've never once seen one on a coral but I just don't want to chance it cause I've read they can get out of control fast and I'm just glad I got that one cause most of the ones I find are tiny that one was huge.

I've got lots in my tank. They seem harmless.

I've got lots in my tank. They seem harmless. with over 1200 different kinds of them its hard to properly id especially if they have been cross breading.... the ones I have personally seen eating coral all had colored spots on them. my guess is they get the colored spots from the algae in the coral they are eating

I've also heard to watch out for the stars like this that are actually shaped like stars because most of the ones people get in there reefs are the ones that have missing arms and some arms are smaller then the others? These are supposably safe.....but these that are shaped like real stars and also Orange coloured spots on the center design.
I didn't actually see any of the ones I found on any corals. I just don't trust them or like them

the ones that are missing arms or regrowing arms dropped them... each arm dropped makes a new star these things split in 1/2 like crazy

I know they drop arms but there's a slight difference in the ones I think or believe are worrisome? I'll try to get pictures maybe it's just older bigger ones but you rarely see the smaller ones I'm talking about with the Orange spots?? Either way I'll look it up a little more today.

Harlequin shrimp should eat them. Then you have to feed it other stars though.
