I just used the last of my seachem matrix carbon, I was wondering if there was a better carbon, or a good quality carbon at a much better price. Opinions??
Also, I have been using seachem phosguard...same question, but I have a liter left of the stuff.
Also, Drs Foster & Smith have their own brand of filter bad that is aimed at removing phosphorus, but is also a poly and carbon filter that removes a bunch of stuff...they make it sound like the holy grail of filter media, and it's on sale for the weekend. Does anyone have any experience with this product?
Thanks!!!

I use both from bulk reef supply rox carbon and gfo. Buying it there in bulk is cheapest and it's a great product if you get the rox and high capacity gfo. Do you have a reactor?
I had looked into the Dr fosters and Smith's and heard it's cheaper carbon and doesn't work the greatest. Just what I heard

Rox carbon is supposed to be the best with seachem matrix being the second best.

Thanks for the info. No reactor, I just use fine mesh bags in the container my three overflows dump into. It's a plastic pitcher with live rock rubble in the bottom, hole cut in side on the bottom, and I put the bags above the live rock.

Matt do you have a extra pump? Something smaller like a maxi jet 1200 or something? You could make a phosphate carbon reactor. You can run both in one if you want to?
