Assuming it uses water pressure plus gearing of some sort to oscillate the output, I've had 2 similar things - a power head attachment similar to this and 4 SCWDs. All of them failed after 6-12 months of use. They were great while they worked they just didn't last. Given the price, a year's use may may not be a bad value.
Let us know how they hold up.

the hydor attachments always fail within 6 months but really a scwd fail? ive used mine off and on for about 8 years.......
