Picked up a nice one today. Drip acclimated for an hr. Shut the lights off and let him go. Hovered on the rock work at the top of the tank, my angel tried beating him up a bit. So before I know it he swam into the opening of my pistol shrimp and watchman den. Moved one of the rocks and then he was gone. I think he swam under the rock work into the den even further. Hoping he comes out of this alive. If not, big waste of money today :/

I definitely feel your pain. It happens to the best of us. I once added a cleaner wrasse to a large aquarium about 1000gals and soon as I added it a puffer fish eat it. It was in the tank for 20sec max

It's a risk we all take at some point I suppose

I feel your pain I got a flasher wrasse for 50$ when I first set up my tank and the second I put it in my tank my trigger I used to have bit a hole in its head! literally it had barely hit the water! And the trigger had never done anything like that before that so I was kinda surprised in a bad way.

Well I came home up to two good sights this am. Wrasse is alive just hiding out in a completely different part of the tank, yay!
And I was standing there when my lights popped on and there were more pods on the glass than I could ever count. I knew my mandarin was eating and healthy, but now know there is good supply for him in addition to frozen food! Turns out to be a good day.

Mine came out for a little bit with the lights off, but when I switched them on he went back to hiding. He wasn't very shy at the store so hopefully he will come around. My little angel doesn't help him feel at home though

Triggers, Puffers, and Boxfish are all prone to 'tasting' new arrivals.

Triggers, Puffers, and Boxfish are all prone to 'tasting' new arrivals. As are lionfish my banded shrimp lasted about 10 seconds after I put him in. It was cool though he sucked him in tail first so his digestive tract had no problem. That was a long time ago.
