its not sand.... and its magnetic so it gets stuck to cleaner magnets then you scratch the heck out of the tank also if it gets sucked into a pump the pump will get ruined.....

+1 on magnetic, and it's not fine enough for dsb. Pico tanks are hard to maintain as it is, let alone not having a dsb that works. I've had to many tank catastrophes since June, I don't want another, or I will just be out of the hobby again for a while. I can't afford the losses I've had in the last six months, and they have been huge. It's very disappointing and discouraging, especially when I work hard to save the money I get to put into my tank.

Gonna add some cheato in the chamber and call it good for now. I have to clean it or change the impeller cause it's really noisy. Sent from my HTC ONE Attachments:

Updated pics Got the aquaclear filter fuge going, I only built two chambers, one for a filter pad the other for my algae and mangrove. I have a small piece of eggcrate on the bottom with a filter pad on top of that to allow for a bit of space off the bottom so sediment doesn't build there. And I have one piece of small live rock in there. Gonna try to run my fuge on opposite light cycle. Left about an inch of black sand, turns out it's not magnetic, so I'm going use it in a 2.5 gln i have once i get a little light for it. Been slowly restocking and starting to look pretty good again. Started buying rodi water and back to using reef crystals, hopefully these changes help keep things a bit more stable. I'd like to have a piece of plexi glass cut to fit over the top to minimize evaporation and add further stability, just haven't gotten any yet and haven't settled on filter placement yet. I think it's starting to look pretty good again. Sent from my HTC ONE

Don't know why it turns them sideways. Peppermint shrimp and emerald crab and 5 nasarious snails are the only live stock. Might be a margaritas kicking around still. Sent from my HTC ONE
