Anyone familiar with this kind of damsel?? Don't remember seeing them before and liked it so I got it. It's doing good in qt with 2 domino damsel fish but wanted a little more info on it? Aggressive? Semi? I know they said it was a velvet damsel?

The stripe down the middle is a bright yellow but doesn't come through on the picture to well? I know damsel fish can be kept in groups but can it be groups of different species? Like I said before they seem to be getting along in qt Sent from my SCH-R530U using proboards Attachments:

That and the domino damsels are going to be terrors in your tank. You may regret buying them once they get in your display.

Really Ryan?? There that bad?? Who are they going to pick on? I had a terror of a Niger trigger before and though most of my fish a very docile now they don't take any crap. I got a neon dottyback that was aggressive at first and every fish in my tank put it in check and now it's one of the more peaceful fish I have? I mean I've been contemplating a frag tank so if there going to be that bad then that may be where they have to go? I wanted to get the azure damsel fish but haven't got around to it and got these. Nobody really carries the azure damsel I've seen only one at lfs and it was at easy

Regular yellow tail damsels are peaceful too. Azure damsels are less common and most likely you'll have to order them. That new damsel you got is a blue velvet damsel. They get pretty big and I've seen them chase fish 3 times their size and they like to dig holes the same way many cichlids like to. Domino damsels have always been a favorite of mine but they can be super aggressive, even when they are small. Do a google search on the types of damsels you've got. I'm only one of many people who learned the hard way. Either way, it's best to know what to expect before you buy. Then again, every fish is an individual and you might just get lucky and have peaceful ones.

Blue Velvet Damsels are super aggressive - one of the worst in my experience, get big (6"), and lose that pretty color. I would get rid of him.
Yellow Tail Blue Damsels (Chrysiptera parasema) are one of the least aggressive damsels. I've had one in my reef for 2 years. He gets picked on by my Anthias! I also have a pair of Black Bar Chromis (Chromis retrofasciata) that have worked well. Both of these stay small and are not hyper territorial.

I don't really like the yellow tail damsel I like the azure there half blue(front) and half yellow/Orange with a spiky dorsal fin? Idk scientific name. So nobody really had luck with the domino damsel either? Even in a group?

I'd trade you that sinularia frag for it if you ever get up towards the topsham area ever.

Those are nice. I don't have any experience with the Tracey's Damsel. I've had some with Azure... I found them to be more aggressive than Yellow Tail Blues.
Good luck!

I'm not going north until thanksgiving lol, but something might come up between now and then. I have a pink phsuedochromis that id also like to rehome. Peaceful, rarely see since lives in the rocks, but I'm dropping down to limited space and want to keep a couple gobies. I think it's male Sent from my HTC6500LVW using proboards
