Hey everyone, I've had my super reef octopus 3000 skimmer for well over three years now, past the 3 year warranty on the bubble blaster pump for sure. Anyway, a couple years ago I had some issues with the stainless screws holding the pump volute on. I emailed Jeremy, the sales rep from coralvue and told him what was going on. He responded quickly, sent me a whole new volute and screws for my pump free of charge under warranty. Last year I started having a problem with my bubble blaster pump randomly stalling and failing to start back up. Again I emailed Jeremy at coralvue about it and he said it was a common problem with the the oring on the impeller expanding and causing enough friction for the pumps microprocessor to kick the pump off. Jeremy replied quickly again with an easy solution to get the problem solved. The oring was there for the pump to be used externally or internally so in my case as an internal skimmer I could just remove the oring to solve the friction problem. Well now close to a year after my pumps warranty has run out it's starting to stall randomly again. I always clean my skimmer in a vinegar solution so I know there wasn't an issue of buildup. None the less I was surprised to see the condition that the impeller magnet was in the last time I took it apart. The outside of the magnet was literally deteriorating. A new impeller is about $90 and I was close to ordering one when I said what the heck. I decided to email Jeremy again just to see if this was a known issue or if it could be the reason why my pump was acting up again. He told me he'd never seen anything like that and without question, asked for my shipping info so that he could send me out a brand new needle wheel impeller free of charge even though it's past it's warranty. Now that's what I call customer service!
