I've been using poly filters for years to remove all sorts of bad things from my tanks because they are only $7 online. I replaced the poly filter in my sump the other night and came back an hour or so later and found my skimmer going crazy overflowing. It was even overflowing with the skimmer turned all the way down. I've read about brand new poly filters causing this but I've never had it actually happen. Anyone else ever had a new poly filter cause their protein skimmer to overflow temporarily?
