So I just placed an order for 15 lbs of Marco Rocks (got 15% off!). I'd like to replace some of my rock that I've been having a problem with bryopsis. Any thoughts on adding dry rock like this to an existing system or should I set up my QT and let it go through a cycle??

From all the research I've done on marco, they are very clean and can be placed right into the tank, just rinse it first for dust. If your worried, let it soak in some water from the tank for a day or two and test.

I rinsed mine for dust. I added well over 50lbs to an existing tank. No problems at all. I also started added purple up with the rock.

So I got my marco rocks in and I am more than happy, these rocks are amazing and won't use anything else from now on. My question is, how much of my old rock can I remove safely and not affect the stability of my tank? And how long do you think it will take the new marco rock to become good live rock?
