I was kinda interested in trying out a par meter to.but I also have a little shadowing but it's mostly because of my center brace.plus I like to have low light area's for lower light corals.the only lights I was looking at four not being bright enough is the 2 purple they seem very dim Idk if they're all like that?

Also everyone is different on the % it all depends on what you had for light before I believe because my corals looked like they wanted more light so I've been running mine at close to 50% white/multi and 55% blue/purple and slowly tiring up the blue a little more everyday and corals are doing awesome and loving it.I can see growth in less then a week

I lifted them to see if the light would spread, but nope. Ill give it a month then sell them if its not feeling right. So if anyone is interested let me know.

my guess is that your used to the wasted light from your pc fixture. be carefull not to bleach your corals!!
mine are 10" off the water on my 180g, sps was bleaching in the sand at 60% power 24" deep! you can try and take optics off then you will get 120 degree optics instead of the 90 degree.
you can go to the reefbreeders site and see par levels.... (I sold him the par meter to design the lights)

I don't have these fixtures, but with my led bulbs, the tank looks 30-40% dimmer than it use to with T5; once I found the right brightness (mounting height in my case) for my corals and nems.

I'm still very curious to know if anyone else had noticed that the 2 purple lights in the center of the light are very dim? They seem to give off very little light and it's like that on both my fixtures.I've seen other led fixtures of this type but different maker that the purple is much brighter and don't understand why these aren't?

I understand there Uv in color but from what I've read led's don't have the capability to produce true Uv light like what's in a Uv sterilizer. Ssi Idk if that's completely true or not but I didn't know if there was a reason they were so dim or if it was just mine that do it? Not a big deal to me really just wanting to know and if like to know if what I've read is true about the Uv light in led's?
