Good point...aluminum is safe, correct? I would think so. I'd just be concerned about paint or adhesives or... I used to work at and manage pet stores in a previous life. Seen too many horror stories of people using stuff not made for aquarium use cause its cheaper...rocks from the yard or beach for decoration, driveway deicer as calcium supplement, etc. Sometimes you get away with it, sometimes you don't.

+1 on the screen top. And whatever you do. Don't bother with eggcrate. If a fish can fit through it, it will. Perhaps eggcrate could be used with some of the large fish only systems. I don't want to say that eggcrate doesn't have a purpose as a tank cover. But it really isn't ideal.

have to reclaim an old post had my first suicide today poor little dragon wrasses was found extra crispy behind my tank today will be getting a screen this week
