So I have a "filter guys" 75g per day RO unit... I have a pressure gauge and it used to read 50psi when first installed... tonite I tried to make some water and the unit is at 15psi, no water making. Seeing that it did produce prior...I was curious of troubleshooting ideas....

What side of the system is the gauge on, input or out put, if its the input then there is a blockage going into the system if it is on the output then something is blocking a line or filter in the RO system

Your RO filter needs changing. How long has it been in the unit and how many gallons have gone threw it?

The pressure gauge is after the three filters but before the DI.... I removed the first sediment filter and turned the water on... I was able to get up to 20 psi... Is there a way to verify that the RO membrane needs changing?

Wish I knew how to check too. When it plugs up with junk it's done.
Some units have a bypass to flush the membrane but this still does not clean it good. Just a temp fix.
Some have added a pressure solenoid. I wonder if that would push more water through the membrane.

Just bought the booster pump... seeing the best psi I ever had was 50... I will update when it gets here. Damn there expensive.....

Interesting on the booster pump, I thought the only kind needed on an rodi was a permeate pump that doesnt require electricity like this one, although I have never had a pressure problem before. www.bulkreefsupply.com/aquatec-permeate-pump-clip.html Learn something new everyday and I am sure it will do laps around the permeate pump.

Is there a way to verify that the RO membrane needs changing? If you remove the sediment filter and the pressure jumps, that tells you that a) the sediment filter is plugged and b) you have a lot of sediment in your water. Blasting your pre-filters with that sediment is going to wear them out real fast... Replace your prefilter and see what happens. Also, are you creating any back pressure on the bad water drain line? This may be part of your issue too.

Back pressure? I have the 1/4" waste line drilled and inserted into my PVC sewer line in the basement... I am also buying new filters... My TDS is and was at 0 both before and after DI.

Yeah - I put a valve on the end of my waste water line and turn it down until I get my RO up to the pressure I want while also making sure some waste water flows to carry away the solids. I burned through numerous carbon, sediment, and other cartridges and bought a booster pump I didn't need before I figure this out.

Before you spend a cent. CALL the filter guys. He has been such a help to me and my coworkers over the past few years. I've spent a lot of time on the phone with different vendors etc. And that guy knows more about the ins and outs of RODI systems than...oh you get the idea. Pay more for a product, get better customer service. I hope its not you RO membrane. Ive had my filterguys ro unit for about 6 years no problems.
