What's the best led color ratio I should get?

gotareef and I got the reef color scheme. There are certainly merits to designing your own color ratio and placement but from what I have seen the corals like the little aspects of green, red, and purple with the normal reef setup. You can also adjust the look from 10k-20k dependent on how you like it with that design. However if you run just the blues, it is truly really really blue. It is quite impressive. If you have any gsp or any neon corals as they light up like a lightbulb in your tank.

gotareef and I were the only ones on the first group buy. You can customize I believe but I do not think it is worth it, the reef model they have does plenty, and provides a great spectrum specifically for corals. Customization costs extra generally. I am running at extremely low settings on both channels, and actually burned a small frag of monti cap that was sitting in the middle of the tank. For the money you cannot beat these lights, you just cannot ramp up and down like other led's during specific hours, which if you had MH's or t5's before hand you could not do anyways... You will be astounded on how amazing they look over your tank.

The seller that he gets them from does 108$ per unit. For a 75 gallon like mine 2 is good, so 216.00 shipped.

if you wanted to in the future could you add timers to these lights? not plug in timers but to change the light intencity at different times of the day? like reef breeders and others? and if so would it be hard and or expencive? Just wondering??? ty sorry for all the questions just want to know what i'd be getting into?

Unfortunately this is the only downside to these "value" fixtures. They do offer the controllable ones with differing light intensities but they are close to $300 a piece. Running them on timers or a controller is pretty simple, and you can still do blues in the morning and evening and whites during the day. There is a big debate going on as to whether mimicking the intensities of the light really does anything for the corals or fish. Personally I do not see any merit in the extra $300. I heard a rumor that there may be a program that someone has developed that pulls the weather from fiji instantaneously and mimics it in the aquarium lighting and temperature. Even cloudy days and lightning storms, not just random. Crazy how into it some reefers can get!

reefbreeders.com/photon48.html this is the controllable one you could use, however, for the price, 2 value fixtures is just as good, just doesnt have the ability to change intensities by the hour.

what do you think is fair? I got boarderlands 2 and black ops 2 as well a controller and another controller that is taken apart cause it's missing a spring for the R2 button but works perfectly fine. Idk if you have those games already or not? I just want to get closer to being able to get my lights :-D but let me know and I'm sure we can work something out
