My new led Photon light from Reef Breeders arrived yesterday:) Probably won't get it up and running this week. Will get some pics up when it's running.

I remember you posting somewhere's that you only have one, is it the value fixture? If so what are you running for percentages? I hear most folks use about 60-70% but others say full blast once they get there corals acclimated.

I have a photon24 running 60% on blues and 50% on white channel. Light is 6-8" off the surface. My corals seem happy.

I am waiting for the group buy in september on RC. I am so excited to get a better lighting system. Did you ramp up or just go for it when you transitioned?

Let me know how your corals fare, I try to do my best to save money and this would be hundreds less than anything else.

I replaced my 250w mh w/4x24w t5's with 120w led fixtures (mine are basically the same as the value fixtures) my frogspawn bleached a little but came back stronger than ever. the only thing that I dont like is one of my palys lost a couple colors, get the fixtures with more colors of led than blue and white but I recommend no red led the red led is basically just to grow algae

Others who have seen my tank with more experience than me would have a better opinion on how my corals look, but they seem to be doing well.

How have you all hung your lights? Rob, yours is hung from the ceiling stringers if I remember. I'm thinking about putting some screw hooks in the ceiling and using some fancy chain to hang the light from. Thought about building a frame of some sort and attaching it to the back of the tank but it seems like too much work...

www.aliexpress.com/item/D120-LED-Aquarium-Light-Ship-From-USA-Directly-USA-Customers-Only/1116288818.html Is posting links like this not allowed like on RC? I don't want to step on toes! 138 dollars x2 units. I mean its crazy cheap. Only issue I have is that there is a tad more white than I would like, and on top of that they are 14000k whites, not 4500k like reefbreeders recommends/uses. Do we know what the difference in look will be? More blue tint is my presumption? Less coral growth but more color? be interested in hearing what you have for layouts, the RC thread is just too long and drawn out.

I hung mine with the kit that come with the photon. i used the screw hooks that are rated for 50-60lbs each in drywall. i figured that was plenty of hold.
