So, i have been trying to catch a diamond headed goby now for three weeks and have had no luck at all!!!!!!! I have tried three different traps, even resorted to the fishing line and hook... still nothing! Anyone have any other ideas? I really do not want to take out all the rockwork just to get the little frigger!

LOL, a little frigger Lmao! Had to catch a six line wrasse that was beating up on my clowns. I eventually had to tear down my entire tank and take every piece of rock out and all of my coral.... I decided to take the damsels out at the same time because I definitely did not want to be doing that again LOL

be careful when you pull your LR out, he might be hiding a crevice in the rock, had a blenny that would do this every time I rescaped. Good luck.

Have you tried a trap? Cut the top off a 2-liter soda bottle, then turn the top around and put it back in the bottle. Use some duck tape or vinyl ties to hold the two pieces together. Fish swim in but for some reason can't find their way out. I've done this several times: www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/fish_trap.php

oh yes, i have tried that and i even have a really expensive trap that i use but that doesnt even work... he is way toooo smart!!! I have taken half of the LR out so i am hoping he swims to that side and i will place something in there to separate the tank then i dont have to worry about him going back and hiding in the LR... THIS IS THE DAY! I am hopeful!

Your best bet is to divide the tank with a thin piece of lexan. It will keep the fish on one side of the tank. Then you have the ability to separate rocks out one by one until the fish gets spooked into the open. This way you aren't left chasing the fish from one end of your tank to the other.
