Who's frags are you comparing the sizes too? Ive been very happy with all the frags I've seen and bought from cultivated reef. Compared to many other stores, for the rarity of some of his corals they are normally twice as big as what most stores offer. Sure you can buy large coral colonies elsewhere but they are usually the most common stuff not to mention many are wild. A large number of his corals are aquacultured and pretty uncommon here In Maine and in a free market rarity does command higher prices.

color is there, but size is not! size does matter +1 I have gotten a couple nice size frags and a few not so nice size frags. you have to remember its an online company so prices have to compete with other online stores. but being local you can see what you get before you buy it. I have bought frags from other company's and have gotten the same they say its 1 1/2" and it comes in at 3/4" or it says 1/2" and it comes in at 1" I only buy wysiwyg now, unless it is a trusted hobbiest! not a coral chop shop that there seems to be more and more of these days atleast greg grows and keeps most of his corals before cutting |

I agree with Ryan, your paying for rarities and it's totally worth it your not going to find much of his stuff anywhere else without leaving the state and if you visit in person it's pretty much wysiwyg, if not the coral is cut on site and I've always gotten the agreed number of polyps, or length, if not more. I have been fortunate to live a town over and probably 50% or so of my coral has come from cultivated reef I've always been happy. Though I can't speak personally for ordering online I have delivered corals to customers in Southern Maine for CR and felt that everything was as described and generously cut.

color is there, but size is not! there is a reason there are no wysiwyg! last time I purchased corals they were about 1/2" paying top dollar I expected something to look at  size does matter Hi, Customer satisfaction has always been and continues to be our first priority. Please always feel free to contact me if you have any issue's with any order you place with us. Always feel free to email me at sales@cultivatedreef.com so I can fix any issues you have had. If your complaint is that we claimed a certain size but sent something smaller then described then please let me know and I will correct the matter. That is a inexcusable practice that we would never intentionally allow. But if your complaint is that you feel our frag sizes are smaller then you wish then I'm not sure what to say. We do offer larger frags on most of our coral. When you order a "double" you average a 20% savings. It is hard to offer large pieces when most of our coral is being farmed/grown out and not simply cut up from wild pieces. Every piece we get from the wild goes through a long QT process of dips and treatments to assure it is pest free. Then it sits in our system for at least a few months to make sure the health and color is stable. At this point, assuming the coral is showing signs of growth, we then start making the frags available. This is a practice that not all vendors do. Sincerely, Cultivated Reef |

I was just looking through your site Greg! It's AMAZING!!! I wish I was your neighbor...I'd be there EVERY day! LOL You have some GREAT products and fantastic prices! Just thought I'd let you know! heck I remember one of the largest meetings being there! we had to take turns going down to look at everything and I dont think much was left after the meeting. great times!!
we are getting a good group of people on the boards another large meeting would be great

I second that! I keep hearing it's totally worth the trip so if you planned a swap I'd come! I also think you have great people skills which means a lot to me in this hobby :-)

I would love to have a frag swap up here next fall. Late October or early/mid November has always been a favorite time for me since summer has ended and people start thinking more about there reefs.

Well, I just got back from Cultivated Reef!!! Amazing stuff as always!!! I love having so much variety in corals!!!! Such a great place to visit if you are ever in the Bangor area!!! I got a couple different pieces mostly SPS (of coarse I had to get the Blueberry Zooanthids!!!) Great deals on some amazing pieces!!! The sizes were perfect too!!!! Definately got my money's worth!! Once again - Thanks Greg!!!!!!!!!!!
