So, I've noticed that King Triton has been 1/2 sucked in a lot this week. (what i mean by that is he sucks part of himself in like they do when they're scared but has left the other half out). I've tried the last 3 days to give him a giant krill but he isnt taking them. I'm just a tad worried about him and I figured you guys would know cause youre all AWESOME! Thanks everyone!

Any ideas? This is what he normally looks like and what he looks like right now. He's a lot smaller than he normally is and it looks like he's keeping half of himself sucked in Sent from my Desire HD using proboards

I don't think it's a bad thing, when they are fully opened they are hungry or taking in max light. Has he always been white?

He was WAY white when I got him, he's FINALLY starting to get some more yellowish tinge to him. The BTA is also slowly gaining color too. Anyways, he just seems to be out a lot less than normal and he's not eating what ive tried to feed him the last few days, so it just is unusual.

He's probably fine, if he starts really shrinking then worry. Yea he should be almost a pale brownish color at least, I've seen some purple ltas to tho, that would be cool if he turned out purple

He may be ok, I would worry if he was completely flaccid. Is the rdsb an option you could do soon? If not there is always the not so fun option of removing everything from your tank adding new sand bed and return everything to tank. I think you had a 75? Where do you live?

I have a 55gal. I dont think i can to the RDSB that soon...my hubby works for the shipyard and they're getting furlowed which means his pay gets cut by 20% and he cant get any overtime so it pretty much cuts his pay in half (thanks obama) I have thought about stripping everything from the tank, the only thing that makes me nervous is that theres prob some stuff in the sand bed from the last 4 months and im worried ill stir up the bad stuff I live in acton which is about 40 min from Bidd. I'm TOTALLY bumming I did leave a message for my buddy who helped me take care of him before i got proper lighting. I just dont want him to die, he's big and beautiful and i love him

Doing it the not so fun way you would pull all the live stock and rock out first, then remove most of the water. Doing all this without stirring up much of the sand bed. Then pull all of the sand dump the rest of the water, add new sand and put your tank back together. I would do a water change at least the next day if you can't do one the same day you tear it down. Maybe if your free wed I could come help you. Give me something to do while the boyfriend is working.
