Looking at setting up a small cube tank on the kitchen counter. It will be approximately 6 gals (11.5 x 11.5 x 11.5" ). Yeah, I know it's small😊 Haven't decided yet on what to put in it. Maybe freshwater/planted, dwarf African frogs, fw shrimp, or maybe a nano reef. Looking for suggestions and to see what you all would do!

I vote for a stickleback biotope. A pair of native nine spine sticklebacks would probably work in there and be really cool to watch. If you do go with nano reef setup then a pair of Yasha gobies and candy stripe pistol shrimp would be my pick. Possibly a pair of pearly jawfish or pair of fire fish could work if it’s a covered tank. You could also just plant a mangrove tree in the middle and have try some fiddler crabs lol. Wait I want to try that haha.

Good suggestions! I actually like the look of 4-spine sticklebacks better. So the clown trigger and volitan lion are out of the question?😀

If I go salt with this tank, would bottled distilled water be ok for mixing saltwater? Any suggestions for lighting?

I’m ruling out a catfish🙀 as it will soon outgrow this tank.
