This is a good idea except the mushrooms would also suffer and I don't know how long they can go without water.

It's a common green mushroom coral.

Cut it off with a sharp razor blade as close to the rock as you can then to reattach to something else gut put in a container with a bunch or holes and rubble, it will grab onto something

Put the mushroom at the bottom in the water. Looks like a green hairy mushroom so I'd be surprised if you could nuke it and kill it.

I've been meaning to frag the mushroom anyways, so I will likely be doing this before I mess with the rock. This weekend is going to be a fun weekend fragging and bringing the tank up to my expected standards. Should be loads of fun. I will try to provide pictures.
