I primarily restore barns and occasionally timber frame houses. Lots of forensic structural stuff. Putting new carrying beams and log floor joists into a 1740's house this week. Here are the pics from Friday. s1133.photobucket.com/albums/m585/SABurner/1914%20Post%20Rd/Floor/ Also jack and move buildings and do underground utilities, drainage, septic systems lot clearing Was a house builder for years. Got so damn boring. Hey, that's pretty cool! I had an interest in timberframing a while back, and considered enrolling in that Fox Maple School. Probably the most "Over-The_Top" project I worked on with my metal fabricator friend was a stairway and railing job, like an $80k stairway and railing. Fab'd in Shapleigh then installed in Bethel area: Pics in reverse order. s977.beta.photobucket.com/user/alpinepm/library/Work%20Pictures/Bethel%20Job What was interesting there was the "bridge" steel beam you can see my buddy welding on. The prints showed to straight, but reality says it goes straight into that window. Our suggested solution was the jog at the end and that turned out to be one of the owners favorite features. This was another we did w/ treads sticking out of a wall. These are just the structural components and are now completely encased in very old PA Dutch barn beams / posts. s977.beta.photobucket.com/user/alpinepm/library/King%20Residence

I would love to Rob but have too many irons in the fire as it is. ;D I did help a friend build a house down here this fall and he made hemlock timber trusses but cheated by using steel connection plates. I couldn't hide my disappointment but he didn't have any interest in learning the joinery. This is the school I was interested in: www.foxmaple.com/ I think I still have their workbooks somewhere - Timber Framers Workshop. I believe that they also sell student built frames at a reasonable price.

I've spent so much money on my tank over the past year that I have absolutely no idea where all the money came from? Lol If I continue at the rate I've gone so far I'll have to start robbing banks! Again!...Haha I decided about 2 months ago to try and make the tank pay for it self by fragging and trading and have done well so far. Most important thing for me to remember is I have to get what the tank NEEDS first and what I want second.

I mostly hang from bridges. Ive worked on or ran crews on most of the bridges u see under construction on Interstate 95. If im not hanging from a bridge with Ron then im usually removing or applying various protective coatings. In other words, painting usually or something like that. We'll coat anything from a smokestack 150 feet up in a manlift to a ballvalve 1/2 mile under a mountain.
