Well I personally dose Cal during the day and Alk at night. I spread my doses throughout the entire day. Mag is dosed in my tank every 3-4 weeks. I normally test everytime and add what's needed to get it back up to 1350-1400. You should keep your dosing pump higher then your hoses. Also don't put your hoses below the water line and make sure they're dripping in a spot with decent flow so you don't get a ton of calcium deposit build up. Check all the dosing pump heads when you first get it. I had one that wasn't working right from the get go. All I had to do was take the head off and realign the wheels inside. I was told it was a common problem. I used the mixing jugs for dosing containers. I just drilled holes in the caps and added 1/2 pvc to them to keep the hose straight all the way down to the bottom.

Hey Rondo, Jasons advice is spot on. Theres also a couple great calculators for getting your levels up to par before you start dosing daily, check out BRS the calculator button is near the top at their homepage. Also here. reef.diesyst.com/flashcalc/flashcalc.html

ive seen some dosing to the sump as opposed the tank any pros or cons doing that other then hiding hoses Well you'd probably get better flow in tank. But hiding the hoses in the sump is pretty important to me. That's really it though
