Didn't plan on it. Do you ever go to Easy? Or anywhere south? If not I can drive up your way.

This is the tank about a month ago. I've got about 5 more corals since.

Found this. It's my tank from 2-3 years ago.

I don't get to go to easy very often. It's a long trip for me and they don't have high end Sps all that often. So it's hard for me to justify the long trip. I met with someone from down your way in Brunswick the other day. That's a lot easier for me if you didn't want to drive all the way up.

It's alot easier keeping everything in check. You are more likely to do a water change when you can see the stuff building up. I know now after cleaning the tank is 100% clean. Not guessing if I got all the sand clean. I work at a company that makes stuff out of umhv plastic (cutting board) so after I decide to stay with the bare bottom I'll put a 1/4 thick piece of black in.

I wish I'd of gone bare bottom! Looking really good and healthy now though I hate bare bottom. Just another surface you need to clean. I'm going the opposite and adding sand to my frag tank. Only positive I've found is you can really crank up the flow and not worry about blowing sand around.

Added flow, easy to vacuum the bottom (I don't clean my sand so someday it's gonna bite me in the A$$) corals don't get barried and lots of encrusting corals look awesome growing on the bottom.

did you ever figure what happened to yout tank to kill them all off so fast? My kh dropped and nothing I did would bring it back up. By the time I fixed it it was too late.

I'm not saying I prefer bare bottom I'm just saying it's better for the tank. For me anyway. If you maintain the sand and replace part of it every couple months then it can be better to have sand. I'm just not willing to put in the work. Anything to make the tank easier to maintain I'll do. That's why my sump is on a stand next to the tank. It doesn't look nice but it's way easier to maintain.

And this is my tank as of today. Needs some sticks in it but it's starting to look better.

Can always meet up at my house in Brunswick! I could have some super easy sps for you. I might have a frag of a green digita I got off you 2 years ago. Make the trip will pay for your gas in frags.

Yeah sounds good. I like seeing other people's tanks. You always cool getting a frag of your own coral years later
