I took down one tank a 65 G hex and moved into a 55G rect. how long should I wait before trying some corrals. it is a mix of new and old sand /substrate and my old rock. it has 5 small fish in it and some snails and crabs ( about 6-7 each. it has a double 10 gal refugium with sand rock and chato/pods . it has been running about a week now

Hard to say for sure without more information. The fact that you are using some old rock and sand should speed the cycle along, but tank swaps inevitably involve some die off and some sort of re-balancing period. You'll need to frequently test for Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate and be ready for extra water changes over the next month(maybe even two).
So just guessing I would say a month at the earliest for adding corals. What corals you get will depend on your lighting, flow, filtration and the stability of your tank.

Also you said you have 2 24" leds on your tank right? What kind of leds? When your tank seems ready for corals get a easy to keep, cheap coral and use it as a tester...

I have a birds nest or zoa frag I can donate. Generally I don't like used sand unless you rinse, kill and get phosphates out.

Kewel Nice tanks I need prices though im on a very limited income. I have to plan ahead for purchases Most of my birdsnest frags are 5$-15$ depending on size. Ryans trying to break down a tank so you might get a great deal from him? Plus I think he's delivering a tank to Lewiston soon so maybe he could make it easier for you to get? Keep me in mind if your ever in the area. I have tons of pieces and I give good prices, love to help out newer people as well.
