Now a days it's hard to say anything came from anywhere specific ! Lol half my tank is from online orders and not from locals at all. When very little people keep Sps anymore it's hard to not shop mainly online. The monti is red in any tank or lighting. Only colors I could forsee it turning is brown or white!  and that would be bad Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards you said you got it from derek he got a couple pieces of it from me.... at one point I even gave away frags to a member for pest control... (they were used to bait monti eating black bugs) like you say sps not many people around keep so when everyone local has the same coral I would say even a greater chance it came from 1 original person.... tri color birdsnest anyone actually if someone has a frag I wouldnt mind getting it back! I try and track corals I get rid of just like your big polyp red blasto. you got it from cultivated he got it when he cut my original colony for me.... the blasto scoobnoob has came from from lindsey she grew it from a frag she got from me. it is also the same blasto christian had up in unity, easy aquariums had frags from christian, stephen got a couple frags from me.... I can honestly say I am pretty sure any frag of it around came from a 3p wild coral I got years ago from a store in westbrook.... |

I got a red monti from you awhile back as well but it was a red encrusting monti. Was really nice to because it was a deep maroon kinda red. Mine is a red montipora capricornis and he said he got it from someone tearing down there tank? Big Colony I believe. Either way they're all great corals to add to a tank! Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards thats cool. I have only seen 2 kinds of tricolor....ponape and the one I had, the difference is ponape has raised coralites like an acro and the one I had has smooth coralites like pink birdsnest and with the monti I had red encrusting (you got it, no frags were made) and orange/red monti cap (I traded it to everyone!)some tanks its neon orange and in some tanks it is bright red.... |

I got plenty of the tricolor. It was one of the first corals I ever got from you. Remind me next time we do a swap Ill bring you some.

I got a blood red monti frag from Derek in Lewiston and it was huge and cheap! Actually kinda free because we traded frag for frag:) Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards depending on lighting and tank your blood red could be neon orange! most of the "red" monti around originally came from a 75g show tank at deepsea creations... Actually a lot of the red scrolling/plating montiporas came from unity as well which originally came from quality marine. |

+1 ryan, it took me forever to get a frag from dennis and he only gave out 2 maybe 3 frags. the condition he gave me when I got it was I had to spread it around, so I did for about 3 years! the colony ended up at easy when they bought out deepsea and didnt live threw the move  jason- the nuc green, green death, and two face are all the same paly! nuc death are a nuc green grafted with purple death.... some are green with purple stripes some are green with purple patches some have purple mouths and some look like the pic you posted... because they are grafted most are a little different... I have 8 polyps and 3 different looks... |
