Yea I'm caulking all the window pains and putting removable rope caulking around all the gaps for now. Once I get a ladder I'll be putting plastic on the windows I can get to. I do mine on the inside. I got a kit on walmart.com for $9.00 and one kit does 10 standard windows. They work pretty well. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

I'm going to try and make some partial tank covers as well to help cut down on some of the humidity. I'm thinking I'll get some glass cut to fit but then again I may just use some thin lexan to avoid anything falling and breaking them.

So I've got 125 gallons of open water, drafty windows and battling condensation everywhere. Enough to where we are getting mold/milldue on the wood window frames. It's a massive pain in the but to keep on top of. It's puzzling because we moved from a smaller apartment where we had a bigger tank and never had humidity issues. Now with a smaller tank and more living space, our humidity meters reading 66%-71% humidity. I dread having to purchase and run a dehumidifier. Anyone else having humidity issues in your homes with big open top reef tanks? What do you think about adding one of these little guys? www.amazon.com/Eva-dry-E-500-Renewable-Wireless-Dehumidifer/dp/B000H0XFD2/ref=pd_sim_k_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=1A4HNM2C8PMCNR1XS9FH Maybe put it under your stand? Those things will max out in no time in a super humid area, I use one in my gun safe and I have to renew it every few weeks.

Yea I think I've got the problems pretty much figured out. Land lord just had a ridge vent installed on our roof. I'm working on sealing up all the drafty windows where condensation forms and I've been venting the upstairs as much as possible. So far today alone we've managed to get the humidity down from 70% to 48%.
