I was first thinking that it was some sort of bottlebrush.

Looks bleached but that could just be from the lighting. I'm guessing it will likely darken up. Regardless it looks like a nice colony.

There were several Colonies at Love The Reef that were this color, came in this way. I thought it was bleached (I'm also Color blind) but my wife was telling me it was a bright lime color.

I'll start by saying acropora I.D. is nearly impossible through a picture. Also Lance, Greg or Rob could have a better answer. Here's mine.... Acropora divaricata- coral.aims.gov.au/factsheet.jsp?speciesCode=0024Also looks kinda similar to these... Bushy Acropora Nasuta (polyp discription makes me really lean towards this one), acropora selago and Acropora secale Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

It's an Acropora sp. Even experts have difficulty IDing many species of Acro since growth patterns rarely allow for ID. Personally I don't worry about species-level ID.

Send the pictures to Dong, he'll ID it for you. He'll definitely give you a better answer them me but I still believe a 100% positive I.d. is impossible. You have to get the skeletal structure analized. I personally don't worry about scientific names most of the time. Mainly because it's so hard to know with sps. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

So..... What do you all think about the coral color? Is it a rare gem? Bleached? Or other??? It's hard to tell from the pic but if it's a bright lime with blue tips and stays that way then it's a great piece. My guess is that it'll probably change up and the "lime" could go many different ways and the blue tips will either stay that way or go purple. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards
