I think Robs situation with that tank is a little different though. ... He's got 2 beautiful clowns he's going to breed and the baby's will be worth their weight in platinum! Good investment? I think so...... I buy expensive corals because I'm addicted to those really colorful sticks that go for 60$-100$ for a 1" frag. I buy colonies rather then frags so I can frag, sell and trade for more colorful sticks! lol vicious cycle I know! But it's what I love and what gives me the most joy out of this hobby.

all livestock is an investment... when I am done setting up my 40 it will have 2 fish and a nem just the 2 fish and the nem retail for about $800!! but I am paying to have something others dont have. same reason I have never owned a yellow tang,sixline wrasse..... not to mention I am a bit narcissistic when it comes to my tanks,,, but is that a bad thing? or am I just a true reefer.... ( I fit the definition to the tee, except im in no way shellfish )
