Was NEAS going to do some sort of coral swap and forum, educational talks, and have representatives from all the local aquarium stores some weekend in October? I though I heard about something back at the beginning of the summer. Anyone know if this is going to actually happen?

Yes. Rick never meant to do retail again, he opened up his shop as a learning center. You could obviously buy stuff while you were there, but it was never meant to be a full retail operation.

Right I understand that but..... From the vet few discussions I had with Rick I didn't think he'd completely close down to the public. From what he told me last year, he made it sound like he was gong to try to do more not less. Sent from my SM-N900R4 using proboards

Yes that is kind of strange because he was going to do the Learning center on Saturday's and it was also for reefers to come in and meet which he enjoyed.

I got an email from Rick today. He was in a bad car accident a couple of weeks ago, and it was caused by a health issue with him. Here is part of his email regarding Saturdays-
" The learning center is on hold for time being. My plans at this time is to hold a quarterly event, starting January 3rd. This will involve a guest speaker, frag swap and other events. If someone needs something or advise, we are available by appointment. We are also scaling up our aquaculture program featuring corals, cuttle fish, bergias ect."

If I am not mistaking in a conversation I had with Rick months ago he was talking Nudibranchs which he all ready started breeding.

Good to know, too bad about him being in a car accident. I was looking forward to a local coral convention with some interesting talks/seminars. Always want to go to MACNA- just can't afford it.
